چکیده

We give a characterization, in terms of forbidden induced subgraphs, of those graphs in which every connected induced subgraph has a dominating induced path on at most k vertices (k 3). We show, in particular, that k = 4 means precisely the class of domination-reducible graphs, whose original definition applied four types of structural reduction. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. Characterization of signed paths and cycles admitting minus dominating function

If G = (V, E, σ) is a finite signed graph, a function f : V → {−1, 0, 1} is a minusdominating function (MDF) of G if f(u) +summation over all vertices v∈N(u) of σ(uv)f(v) ≥ 1 for all u ∈ V . In this paper we characterize signed paths and cycles admitting an MDF.

Snakes and Caterpillars in Graceful Graphs

Graceful labelings use a prominent place among difference vertex labelings. In this work we present new families of graceful graphs all of them obtained applying a general substitution result. This substitution is applied here to replace some paths with some trees with a more complex structures. Two caterpillars with the same size are said to be textit{analogous} if thelarger stable sets, in bo...

Vertex Decomposable Simplicial Complexes Associated to Path Graphs

Introduction Vertex decomposability of a simplicial complex is a combinatorial topological concept which is related to the algebraic properties of the Stanley-Reisner ring of the simplicial complex. This notion was first defined by Provan and Billera in 1980 for k-decomposable pure complexes which is known as vertex decomposable when . Later Bjorner and Wachs extended this concept to non-pure ...

Triangle path transit functions, betweenness and pseudo-modular graphs

The geodesic and induced path transit functions are the two well-studied interval functions in graphs. Two important transit functions related to the geodesic and induced path functions are the triangle path transit functions which consist of all vertices on all u, v-shortest (induced) paths or all vertices adjacent to two adjacent vertices on all u, v-shortest (induced) paths, for any two vert...

Characterizations of minimal dominating sets and the well-dominated property in lexicographic product graphs

A graph is said to be well-dominated if all its minimal dominating sets are of the same size. In this work, we introduce the notion of an irreducible dominating set, a variant of dominating set generalizing both minimal dominating sets and minimal total dominating sets. Based on this notion, we characterize the family of minimal dominating sets in a lexicographic product of two graphs and deriv...
